The Bible and Love Letters

My boyfriend sends me love letters in he mail quite frequently. I love getting letters because they are a constant reminder of how much he loves me. There was one time I was worried because many of my friends were breaking up with each other, so I told him "don't break up with me. This would be a very bad time." He told me that would be absurd and he would never dream of doing such a thing. It's nice to hear it, but it's also nice to read it. He sent me a letter and told me "breaking up with you would be like walking away from God's will for my life." AWWW! I love reading that over and over again because I want to be constantly reminded of how much Eric loves me.

In several ways, the Bible is God's love letter to us. In the Bible he expresses over and over again how much he loves us, how much he has sacrificed for us, and how much he longs to be united with us in Heaven. He gives us the Bible so we can be constantly reminded of how much God cares for His own. God is our heavenly father and he longs for us to read His word in order to be drawn closer to Himself and conform to the image of Jesus Christ. So, I exhort you to read the Bible; not just as any old book, but as a love letter from God.

Psalm 62:8- "Trust in him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us."
Psalm 139:17-18- "How precious are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee."
Isaiah 41:13- "I the Lord will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee."
Ephesians 3:20- "Now unto Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think."
Isaiah 41:10- "Fear not, for I am with thee: be not dismayed, for I am thy God: I will strenghen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righeousness."
John 3:16- "For God so loved the world that he gave is only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Rom 5:5- "And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."
1Jn 4:10- "In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins."
