SURPRISE!!!

May 21, 2010 at 2:53 p.m: My sister-in-law Emily called me up and told me that since she and Ben had not spent much time with Randall and I over Summer School, she wanted to take us out for lunch at McDonald's in town on Saturday (around noon). Well, it gave me a chance to get off-campus and spend time with family, so I said I would go.

May 22, 2010 at 10:00 a.m: I needed to make a run for Walmart for some necessary items and thought the morning would be the best time. So...I trekked across campus over to Leland (the guys dorm that my van was parked by), only to discover the van was gone! I thought to myself: "Now where would Randall be at 10 in the morning???" So, I call him and he says he's out and will meet me at lunch and I can take the van to Walmart after lunch.

May 22, 2010 at 12:13 p.m: Emily calls to tell me Ben and Emily are pulling into campus to pick me up to go out for lunch. I get in the van and ride with them to McDonald's in town. We walk in and Em asks, "what do you want?" Then she turns and says, "Randall, what do you want?" I didn't even realize Randall was there yet. So, I turn around to see Randall and then realize there was someone else sitting in the booth with Randall. I looked and I think just about jumped a few feet. There, sitting in the booth with my brother was my boyfriend ERIC!!!!!! I was so excited and confused. I couldn't believe my eyes: "what are YOU doing here?!?!" "I came to visit you," was his reply. All I could do was "awww" for about five minutes (lol). Until Emily says, "What? Are you just gonna 'awww' all day or are you gonna give him a hug?"

My family is just wonderful. :) My mom paid for Eric to fly up from North Carolina to see me this past weekend. I had the most amazing weekend of my life--I can't think of a more wonderful thing to do than spend time with Eric Hall. :) Saturday we spent much of the day walking around Watertown and playing Monopoly at the park. We had such an enjoyable time. :) Later, (around 8:00), we went back to Ben-n-Em's for dinner. Ben and Emily went to visit an old friend who was in town for his sister's wedding, so Randall, Eric, and I all stayed at the apartment and watched Star Wars: A New Hope until I had to go back to school (stupid dorm lock :P).

Sunday (May 23, 2010) was great as well. Eric went to church with me (I love going to church with him) and the Gordon's were very excited to see him there as well. :) After the morning service, we went to Walmart, purchased flip-flops, changed into casual dress, ate Little Caesar's pizza, and took a trip to Holy Hill for the afternoon. It was a great day. :) After we visited Holy Hill (a Catholic basilica and shrine), we went back to Ben and Emily's apartment and finished Star Wars IV and then watched all of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. After watching that, none of us were very hungry, so we played multiple ferocious rounds of UNO. lol Then we all went out to Applebee's for a dinner date (getting separate tables of course) until it was time for me to go back to the dorm (again...stupid dorm lock).

May 24, 2010 at 5:00 a.m: I got up and got ready to ride with Ben, Emily, and Eric to the airport in order for Eric to return home. The ride there was quiet as neither of us wanted to say goodbye (or "see ya later")...we'd much rather spend our time together. However, we eventually got to the airport and Eric and I said a tearful goodbye.

Even though we had to separate for a little while, I know that God is still good. God was good in bringing Eric all the way up to Wisconsin for the weekend; God was good in seeing him safely back home to North Carolina. I know that God will be good in seeing him safely to and from Ukraine this next weekend and I will see him again shortly (June 27th can't come soon enough). :)
