Modesty from the Heart

Hey everybody!

So, yesterday in dorm devos my dorm sup brought a devotional that God had laid on her heart. I thought she did a very good job at explaining why modesty is important. During the last couple of weeks, I too have been thinking heavily on the matter of modesty. The one thing that kept creeping back into my mind was the fact that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost. We are not our own! We are bought with a price: the price of Christ's shed blood. This truth alone should motivate us to live pure and modest lives.

Think about it. In ancient Israel, the temple was the most beautiful building around. People would have thrown a fit if someone tried to desecrate the temple--the dwelling place--of God. Yet, every day, Christians desecrate their temple by dressing immodestly and revealing to the world what should only be revealed in private with their spouse.

Just a little food for thought, but I thought it was interesting. How are you representing your temple? In honor...or in dishonor?
