An "Engaging" Vacation

Just this past week, my family took a vacation to New England. We spent the majority of our time in beautiful South Eastern Connecticut, but visited other places like Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. We went to all sorts of neat places to hang out, get pictures, see the sights. One of the neat places we went to was called Battleship Cove. It had all sorts of neat war ships from WWII. Another place was the armory museum in Massachusetts. There, we saw lots of old medieval-type armor and weapons, some dating back to about 250 BC, I believe. It was pretty neat. While I was there, I took a picture of one exhibit that should the entire outfit of a soldier. Ephesians 6:11 came directly to mind: "Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." There was also a children's exhibit in there where we could dress up in the knight's outfits, play a large chess game, get locked in stocks, play a medieval version of "battleship," and much more! It was a lot of fun.
The highlight to my week, however, was the proposal by my own and only. :) We went on a private date to Mystic Seaport, an outdoor museum about America and the Sea. It's set up as an old Whaling village with all sorts of neat places to see. I had wanted Eric to see, so it was the perfect opportunity for us to be alone for a while. My mom let us be to ourselves for 4 hours, although we really only needed about 2 to show him everything I wanted to show him. I had my suspicions about his proposal coming during this time, since it was the only time during the week we would be alone and we weren't sure when we would be seeing each other again this summer. It was the perfect opportunity.
Well, after walking around the village for a bit, we decided to rest on a bench. I picked one bench then he asked if we could move to a different bench with a better view (dead give-away--oh well). So, we got up and moved to the different bench that he preferred and sat there for a while just talking. When it came to be kinda quiet, he asked, "What is one question you would like to know the answer to, but haven't gotten to ask yet?" I said that there were some questions I will be looking forward to asking in heaven when I get there. I asked him what he thought, and he said, "well, there's one question I've been meaning to ask...a particular person...for some time now. Well, I guess now would be the best time as any." So he got down on one knee, held out the ring, and asked, "Will you marry me?" Of course, I said yes. It was probably the happiest moment of my life. :)
